The roots of New Beginning Ministries Church of God in Christ reach back to the year 2000, when a small group of faithful individuals gathered for Bible study. Led by Superintendent W.R. Floyd, this humble beginning in Calhoun, Georgia, was fueled by a vision to create a sanctuary where every soul could find peace and redemption.
What started with fewer than five people has flourished into a vibrant congregation that has touched thousands of lives over the past 26 years. Our history is defined by a commitment to spiritual education and an unwavering focus on the community. Superintendent Floyd's weekly journey from Morrow to Calhoun symbolizes our enduring mission: to lead God’s people with love and passion. This commitment was formally recognized on January 18, 2026, when the City of Calhoun honored our ministry for its devoted service to the community.

Superintendent W.R. Floyd has been a beacon of hope and spiritual guidance for many years. As the dedicated Pastor of New Beginning Ministries Church of God in Christ, he has been instrumental in building a thriving congregation and leading meaningful community outreach.
In 2000, Pastor Floyd began a small Bible study group that laid the foundation for what would become a flourishing community of faith. From those humble beginnings with fewer than five people, the ministry has now reached thousands over the last 26 years. His unwavering commitment to teaching and guiding others in their spiritual journey has remained at the heart of his calling.

First Lady Dr. Shelia Floyd is a devoted servant of God, a compassionate leader, and a source of inspiration to the New Beginning Ministries family. With a life dedicated to ministry and education, she brings wisdom and grace to her role as Supervisor and First Lady. Dr. Floyd is also a devoted mother and grandmother who cherishes her family as a central part of her life and ministry.
Dr. Floyd leads our women's ministry with a profound commitment to spiritual growth and community support. Her leadership is characterized by a deep sense of empathy and a desire to see every individual reach their God-given potential. She has been instrumental in developing programs that empower women of all ages to serve with excellence and live lives of holiness.
